Looking down on Yallingup

We are still on the Cape to Cape walking track as we look behind us at Yallingup Beach, the nursery for most of our state’s top surfers and one of our very favourite places. This is on the Indian Ocean coast some 320kms south west of Perth, Western Australia. I might add that the ocean is usually far more active than it is in this picture. This is all part of the Leeuwin/Naturaliste National Park.

Looking down on Yallingup belongs to the following groups:

Beach Art, Scenery, SEA, The true beauty, UK to Australia and Back, Vibrant and Vivid Color and Waves Available for sale as

Gee it was very calm the day this photo was taken, not sure I’ve actually ever seen Yallingup this calm before?!
    Great shot Peter :)

  • georgieboy98 replied

Hi Kylie and many thanks. This was last Tuesday but in fact it had been flat calm pretty well all week. Peter

    beautiful shot,,, well done

  • georgieboy98 replied

Thanks very much Rosina. We actually met and got talking to a young lass who was doing all 110 kms of this walking track on her own! She was loaded down with camping gear, food etc and had 5 days only in which to do it all! Peter

What a fabulous place , fantastic beaches and the colour of that sea is amazing , and hardly anyone on the beach , looks like my kind of place . A fabulous capture Peter. Australian life , how horrible ha ha .

that looks so beautiful Peter, i’m totally envious of you.lol hugs x

  • georgieboy98 replied

Aw, but never mind – you can visit lovely Teignmouth any time you like and it will only take you a few minutes to get there. We have to drive over 300 kms to get to this area and that’s about a three and a half hour journey! So there’s quite a difference. But I’m so glad that you like it – maybe if you’re good Richard will bring you out here for a holiday – or better still maybe he’ll let you come on your own!! LOL Hugs, Peter

Love this view Peter, and the title is just right. It’s a long way down to the beach from here. Beautiful sea and sand, no wonder that it’s a favourite place of yours. Don.

  • georgieboy98 replied

Hi Don and many thanks once again. When I took this photo we had just passed a flight of steps that led down to the beach and just the sight of it was pretty daunting I don’t mind admitting! Regards, Peter

Hi Peter, I thought as much. We take Julie’s dad out as much as we can and up until just last year he was playing 3 rounds of golf a week (not bad for 87), now he can bearly shuffle around, he’d love to visit places like the beach, but around Cornwall many of the beautiful places are just like this. So we have to admire the view from afar. Blessings, Don.

Thanks very much indeed Susan – we were certainly lucky with the weather for that few days. We wouldn’t have wanted to be down there this week! Peter

  • georgieboy98 replied

LOL – poor you but never mind! With any luck you’ll be able to capture some wonderful snow scenes over the winter! Or would you prefer me to add some snow to these scenes? Hee hee – thanks mate! Peter

A beautiful view from the elevated viewpoint Peter, it seems like Paradise compared to what we are having weather wise lately, I’m sure I could tolerate those crowds on the bach, there must be at least six of them, very well captured,
    Regards, Rod.

  • georgieboy98

    georgieboy98

Very many thanks Rod and no doubt you will have noticed that there was some wispy cloud in this scene! By later in the day that had blossomed out to some really wonderful cloud patterns that I managed to capture in subsequent photos yet to be posted. The beach was actually quite crowded for an out of season weekday and out of shot there were some 20 or 30 surfers having a great time! Best wishes old friend, Peter

My family are there this week, I don’t think the kids will get much swimming time!

  • georgieboy98 replied

You never can tell. Last Wednesday night you had a storm in Perth and we had absolutely nothing down at Smiths Beach – but we could look out of the window and see distant lightning from the general direction of Perth.
