Twilight Cove
Arguably the most popular of all Esperance’s beaches, Twilight Cove is about 3 kms from the town centre and has a large car/coach parking area overlooking the Southern Ocean. Many, many years ago Prince Charles visited the area and couldn’t resist an early morning swim at this very spot. He was asked how he liked it and replied, as you might imagine, that it was a beautiful place but the water was “bloody cold!”

Thanks Hilary. We had Betty’s brother with us – out on holiday from Blackpool – and he was just rapt in these beaches and couldn’t believe there were so few people using them! Peter

Really hard for a country girl from the states, that has never really been any where, to imagine such a beautiful place exists! Great capture!
georgieboy98 replied
Thanks very much Dottie. We don’t lack for beautiful places – the only snag is that most of them are at least a day’s drive away!! Peter
Patricia Gibson

Thanks Teresa. We’re always reluctant to leave I must admit. Don’t know if we’ll ever get down there again though – it’s rather a long way to drive. Peter

Just my kind of beach with few people on it and that sheltered corner next to the rocks looks so inviting, wonderful clarity, colours and detail Peter, a beauty,
Regards, Rod.
georgieboy98 replied
Thanks very much Rod but I can’t understand why I am not getting notification when you post a new photo. Hilary said she was having a few problems like that as well and RB are working on it. Thanks to Don I can now get photos from the new Sony direct into Lightroom – and I don’t think even Lightroom realise that because Don’s new Nikon wasn’t on their list yet he can get into it as well!! All the best, Peter

Which state is this in Peter?
georgieboy98 replied
WA – right down in the far south east almost due south of Kalgoorlie. Alternatively you can drive across the Nullarbor and turn left when you come to the end, at Norseman! Peter

Adrian Paul
Beautiful capture & I love the Prince Charles anecdote.
georgieboy98 replied
Thanks very much Adrian. It received a lot of publicity at the time of Charles’ visit and his comment was widely quoted! I dangled a tentative toe in when we were last there and can verify that what he said was quite true! LOL Peter
