My favourite bird of the Galapagos Islands by far was the Blue Footed Booby. It’s the most easily seen but is the least abundant of all the boobies!
I loved watching their plunge-diving feeding strategy – seeing them plummet like torpedos directly into a shoal of fish below at speeds of up to 60Km/hr. They’d rise seconds later with fish in bill.
Their bright blue feet are even more vibrant in real life.
