This is scary….i heard about it from another member at facebook…at this point what is the point to delete the images…I always use 72dpi and make them small…when i take shots for others i send them low resolution images because i know they will put them up on face book…i know this does not help….how would this affect if you gave copyright to say publishers….what did you do Charlie…have you taken down your shots?

  • Hey there Paola! After what my family member told me and what I read on the net, I deleted all my art pictures and pictures of me except for the cat pics which they are non-artsy. My art photos were all 72dpi and small as well. I don’t know what in the world Facebook is thinking! Anyways, you have a nice day! :)

I deactivated my account yesterday. I just heard on MSNBC that Facebook has issued a statement that the users own their content, not Facebook. I think Facebook needs to issue a statement to all it’s users immediately to clear up this debacle. The problem that I found in reading the TOS is not with ownership of the content, but that by uploading images, writing and other content, the user grants Facebook an irrevocable license to do pretty much what they want to do with the user’s content.

Over the past few days, we have received a lot of good feedback about the new terms we posted two weeks ago. Because of this response, we have decided to return to our previous Terms of Use while we resolve the issues that people have raised.
