Blanda the Queen of Spring by George Swann

Blanda the Queen of Spring by

One of the joys of early spring, the lovely Anemone Blanda, from the Eastern Mediterranean where, long before the tourists arrive, it graces rocky places, shrub and open woodland in sheets of colour. The delightful flowers are like large daisies. My very favourite spring flower, when Blanda is in bloom, it is a sure indication that spring has arrived.
