An old photographer and his dog trying to find what turns a photograph into a worthwhile picture. Perhaps try to take a worthwhile photograph in the first place? The digital darkroom is a creative, fascinating place. If only I could learn to use it and the cameras I have to best effect… I love “mucking around”, as you can see!

Now, you know all my stuff is Copyright If you try and pinch any of it, I’ll jump through your screen and rip your bloody arms off!

    Past fallen coloured leaves
    and midst the whispering trees
    the garden pathway passes through
both dappled light and cooling shade.
Not always straight and even pitched
    It’s destination was sometimes unclear.
Yet, in the mellow evening light,
At last a clearing has appeared.
A place to linger, rest a while
and gather strength to journey’s end.

    Beautifully inviting!

  • Thanks, Rosalie – you may recognise the location from a previous RB Rumble! A quick shot which I decided to try and “rescue” as a painting effect and throw in a word or two. :)george

Breathtaking beauty George .. and very fine poetry as well!!!
I can envision this as belonging to Middle Earth and to the Lord of the Rings trilogy!!!

  • G’day, Ken! I’m delighted that this picture has made your Favourites! Many of the gardens in the Blue Mountains are a blend of natural and deciduous European plants, as this is where the early settlers came from. There are elements of Middle Earth in some of them, making them so pleasurable to investigate. I’m also very pleased that you can appreciate the verse inspired by this picture! :)george
