That night, the Box Brownie heard a soft knock on her back door. To her delight, it was Ensign, who had shown such an interest in her earlier that day. One look at his bellows and she opened her shutter….. The liaison proved fruitful. Development took 1/60 sec @ f22, but most menuals are like that….
Now, the umbilical cord has been severed and the proud parents look fondly at their little pointer and shooter. They called him Sony. The picture was taken by Uncle Nik on this happy occasion.
Nikon D80, Sigma 17-70mmOS lens @ 58mm, Portrait setting, 1/80 sec @ f4, ISO 100, Pattern metering, Auto exp & WB. Converted and cropped to 3:4 format in Photoshop Elements 3.
Thanks very much for the fave Michael – this was the logical sequence to my Valentine’s Day card. I’m glad you appreciate this bit of mucking around. :)george
Thanks very much Felix – that little Sony is the one that usually lives in my top pocket and manages to produce some interesting shots now and then. :)george
I can see their pride bursting out all over! Blinking wonderful! Uncle Nik took a great pic. I certainly hope this saga continues…. :-) Ditto what Michael says.
On examination, it was found that Sony didn’t have a cable release orifice, but to compensate, he is very stable optically. Ensign’s full name, BTW, is “Ensign Pocket Twenty”. Back in those days, designed to live in the pocket of a greatcoat. The fruit of their loins, however, fits comfortably into the top pocket of a modern shirt. Mine! Lets see what else I can drag out of this union…. :)george
Thanks Gail – glad you like it. Pssst: you’d better have a word to Sharon about where little cameras really come from, or she’ll end up with a DSLR! :)george
Having seen your earlier work, for a moment I thought you had set up a menage a trois. Glad I read your description. A liaison that was no doubt all about focal length and depth of field. Severing the umbilical cord must have been similar to a cable release? What with Sony being a pointer and shooter, Ensign could be a grandad pretty soon.
You must be one of the few people who buys a newspaper to read it and not just look at the pictures. There does need to be some investigation into the gestation length of a Box Brownie. No, I jest. Now, I just have to find another compatible compact for Sony to date. An eye phone? Could he menage? :)george
