In the Blue Mountains National Park, near Katoomba, a path leads through the moss covered trees to a magnificent view of the Jamieson valley. One minor problem – the clouds have enveloped the mountains, obscuring the view! At least I managed a picture of the path. What this picture can’t convey is the damp, organic smell of the decaying vegetation balanced by the aromas of the eucalypts and other native trees.
Nikon D80, Sigma 10-20mm lens, hand held @ 10mm, 1/15 sec @ f 16, Aperture priority, EV-2, ISO 200, Pattern metering, Auto Exp & WB. Then, as is my wont, some mucking about in Photoshop Elements 3.
Love this misty pathway ..a beautiful moody capture George – Love it !
Thanks for adding this to your favourites Gail – very much appreciated! The Blue Mountains are a place of many moods and I’m glad you like this one. :)george
A wonderfully inviting image….terrific vanishing point! I was over that way around the time Elvis died……a beautiful area I hope to visit again sometime.
The Blue Mountains are an endless source of beautiful scenery and I’m pleased you like this pathway. Let me know if you’re ever up this way again, and bring a bit of sunshine with you, if you like. :)george
Thanks for adding this to your favourites Felix – much appreciated. I suspect you would have been down this path as well, in your mountain meanderings. :)george
Ok George – you have to stop teasing us with images like that. This is such a lovely and wonderful image that I am almost ready to pack up and make a trip before the cloud coverage disappears. This is a FASCINATING image with a wonderful, wonderul feel to it, almost magical. Love the ghostly feel to the tress and how the path disapepars into the distance. An instant favorite of mine.
Thanks for adding this to your favourites Hany – it’s an honour! The scenery and the clouds here are ever changing, so I’m fortunate to have been here at this time. I have been honest in admitting a bit of mucking about to enhance the mood a little – but only a little! I’m so pleased you like the results. :)george
OK George, grab my hand, I ’m afraid you may get lost in this beautiful moody shot if your alone!….wonderful feel to this, lots to see and absorb, what a gorgeous place!!, when the mist goes you can grab the mountains and I can see them as well…gorgeous shot!!…have a great weekend!!
Ah, Kate! Should one stray from the narrow path, there is a danger of falling over the edge, into the unknown. A helping hand is always welcome. I’m very pleased that you can appreciate this moody mountain scenery. :)george
