Back in the olden days, 2006, I lived for a while near Nambucca Heads, on the beautiful North Coast of NSW. It was a happy time, yet a sad time, because being an old codger, I couldn’t find work up there, much as I tried. This is the time I first found and became a member of the old Digital Photo Forum, then, when that disbanded, moved to Red Bubble – and I haven’t been the same since!
This panorama is a bit rough, my first attempt at a wider coverage, as I just sat my Nikon D70 on a post, set the focal length to 50mm to avoid excess distortion, and took about 5 shots, trying to overlap as accurately as possible. Even so, exposures were all over the place and I had to do a fair bit of mucking about to get consistency. Then my panorama programme struggled stitching all the shots together, so more hours spent doing fine adjustments and blending in PS Elements 3. This view is looking South.
Sadly, my original series of photos were lost when my hard drive went to heaven…. No exif information is available, other than a Nikon D70 – and I’m sure I used a Tamron telephoto lens, 50mm, at about f8.

My decision to post this picture, for better or worse, was inspired by seeing Voluntary Rangers’ magnificent panorama of the Lakes district in England.
