And each of the animals and birds came in two by two… two by two… by two…..

“Noah!” shouted his wife. “Are you nodding off to sleep again?! How many pelicans are you letting on board? The whole flamin’ world will be covered with them!”

And so, my friends, it came to pass.

  • * * * * * * * * *

This prolific passing parade, pleasingly posing placidly paddling pretty pelican pairs, perspicaciously photographed at Greenwell Point, near the mouth of the Shoalhaven River on the south Coast of NSW Australia.

This river flows through the town of Nowra (as seen in my “Cambewarra Mountain View”) and its headwaters are “harvested” to supplement the Sydney water supply.

Technostuff: Nikon D80, 18-200Nikkor VR lens hand held @105mm. Aperture priority, 1/100 @ f22, ISO 200, Pattern metering, Auto Exp & WB

An old photographer and his dog trying to find what turns a photograph into a worthwhile picture. Perhaps try to take a worthwhile photograph in the first place? The digital darkroom is a creative, fascinating place. If only I could learn to use it and the cameras I have to best effect… I love “mucking around”, as you can see!

Now, you know all my stuff is Copyright If you try and pinch any of it, I’ll jump through your screen and rip your bloody arms off!

LOL…your comments are hilarious my friend. and this is a magnificent image of a flotilla of pelicans who are most obviously content and secure in the knowledge that the world belongs to them!!

  • G’day Ken!
Do you have pelicans up your neck of the woods? They are a very relaxing and sometimes hillarious bird to watch, and I thank you for visiting this lot and listing them amongst your favourites!

There is an explanation for all things under Heaven. Some of mine may be a bit fancifull – but I may be right!? Glad you like our pelicanian friends.

Hello George…stunning pelican shot..I love the rippling water I know where the pelicans come from but Noah did not visit the river Scheldt. To see a pelican we have to go to the zoo!

  • Ma chere Gilberte!
Zut alors! No pelicans on your river? I’ll have to take this up with the _menage_ment and have some sent there immediatement! You’ll have to make do with this lot in the meantime, eh?

  • G’day Dee!
All my stories are based on very little known facts plucked from highly obscure archival sources….. Thanks for visiting our pelican friends and for listing them amongst your favourites! They will be both highly pleased and deeply honoured.
