Introducing Scoop Neck Tees and Unisex Tanks — FIND OUT MORE

She comes here in the early morn,
amongst those that are laid to rest.
From her sad eyes, transparent teardrops fall
and from her spectral heart, a cry goes out
for her lost love of many years gone by.

How can the hurt of such great loss be healed?
Alone, she daily kneels and cries and prays
that one day may their wandering spirits meet
and once again find happiness and love -
although it be in but etherial embrace.

This picture, taken with my little Nikon P5100, is in the cemetary behind the St. Johns Anglican Church in Camden, NSW Australia. This is a beautiful and historic rural locality, to the South West of Sydney, just outside the Metropolitain area.

Having taken the picture, there was a collaborative effort with Rosalie Dale to create a suitably vintage look. The picture of the spectral mourner is courtesy of stock art

In turn, the verse was suggested by the finished image.

An old photographer and his dog trying to find what turns a photograph into a worthwhile picture. Perhaps try to take a worthwhile photograph in the first place? The digital darkroom is a creative, fascinating place. If only I could learn to use it and the cameras I have to best effect… I love “mucking around”, as you can see!

Now, you know all my stuff is Copyright If you try and pinch any of it, I’ll jump through your screen and rip your bloody arms off!

FAB GEORGE ,THE WORDS THE PICTURE, HOW OFTEN WE THINK THEM OURSELVES

  • G’day Vic!
Thanks for your positive comments. As we played around with the processing, the words started forming…. I had no idea this picture would turn out the way it did. See what happens when the creative juices start to flow and people bounce ideas off each other!?

Great work by the two of you and I love the verse. This is an excellent presentation.

  • G’day Bev!
Yes, this one took a bit of mucking about by both of us after it was decided to “do something” with the picture. I’m very pleased you like the finished result.

We noticed your submission and thought you may want to add it to our new group

We accept art, clothing, writing and journals. Please take the time to visit.

  • G’day Almark!

Firstly, let me offer my condolences at your loss. Others can never know the depth of your feelings.
Secondly, the long delay in replying is due to my not having my own internet access for the last 4 years and having to sneak in time on others’ computers. Now, with my own wireless internet, I can keep up with RB events. I’ve missed the appropriate time, but am happy to add this picture to your group.

    Best regards, George.

I love it, it really is a incrediable shot

  • G’day Josephine!

So glad you like this picture. It started off as an “ordinary” photo, but with a bit of imagination and cooperation from my friend Rosalie Dale, it became what you now see.
