Early October on the Cabot Trail, the world-famous drive around the northern half of Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada. The hardwoods are coming into their full glory, and from this pull-out along the way we’re looking out over the North Aspy River Valley with the sunlight turning the far hills into a golden glow, while the deep reds and russet browns of the maples are more subdued in the shadows.

What a wonderful view and what a riot of colour guaranteed to distract even the dullest of motorists. Super shot George – I love it.
