Nothing can compare to the raw beauty of snow-capped ranges of the Rocky Mountains fading into the distance in veils of mist and rain. Dark forests cover the slopes of lesser mountains rising from a pristine mountain lake, while black clouds hang overhead to remind one of the power of nature. In the heart of Kananaksis Country in south-western Alberta, Canada.

Fantastic capture George……..looks like it was a dreary day but still great atmosphere for this capture !!

  • Hi Sean..many thanks my friend..it was really dreary at times, even had a few flakes of wet snow! But when the clouds broke it was another world..I love the wild mysterious atmosphere you get at those times. Even without a camera it’s worth just sitting and taking it all in.

Gorgeous George. I’m glad to see you are digging into those lovely folders you have with your dozen’s of beautiful pieces of scenery.

  • Many thanks Vicki. I’ve been pretty lax for awhile, trying to get some renos. done at the house and Jann had to go to Ontario for awhile because her Mom was quite sick. She’s recovered nicely though, and Jann just got back. Unfortunately it meant no trip to Nova Scotia this year. I’m just starting to did out the shots from Canmore, as you have noticed..lol!

Such a beautiful capture George. Those heavy clouds against the mountain backdrop are really something. Such stark raw beauty. Didn’t we hit some chilly weather though? Ah well thus is Alberta in June. A fave :>)) Leslie

  • Glad you liked it Leslie. I love the wild dramatic beauty of days like that, sometimes even more than blue sunny skies. It changes so fast, and so many ways the scene can take a whole new aspect. That was the day before we all met, Jann and I decided to take the Spray Lake trail and we ran into every kind of weather, even some hail and a few flakes of snow. But it was worth it! Much appreciate the fave..thank you again!

Best wishes to Jann’s mom – please pass that on, so sorry she was sick, but glad she is feeling better. Will be looking forward to all your photos :-))
    Hugs to both

  • Thanks Vicki..This is Jann… it was a bit dicey for awhile but she’s come back quite well..we were talking to her this evening and she’s back home and sounds really good. Quite a relief! It was a very rough 18 days, I think I’ll get caught up on sleep after a few more here..lol! Thanks so much for your kindness!
