No, not in Australia…this one is on the outer west coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. Facing the open Pacific Ocean, the bay is often lashed with fierce winter storms, but not this day. It’s at the end of the road when traveling west along the coast road from Victoria, and about a one kilometre hike from where one can park a car, all downhill, but the trek is well worthwhile.

Beautiful capture George. I miss the ocean and any beach will do. Gorgeous.

  • Hi Teresa, glad you liked it. I thought I was spending too much time with mountains and I should get back to my beloved! I miss them too!

What a beautiful spot, George! Marvellous capture!

  • Thanks’s really isolated and a bit hard to get to, but well worth the effort. BTW, the hike back uphill is best reserved for people younger than me..but I found a couple of poles among the driftwood and that was my (and Jann’s)!

beautiful George, I wanna be there –

  • I’m sure you’d love it Vicki, we were there most of the day and saw 4 other kind of place to spend some quiet time while Jann did a painting.

Nicely done old buddy and for a moment (until I started to read!) I thought you had emigrated!! The remnants of past winter storms can be seen in all that driftwood that’s been washed up at one time or another. I love the POV between the trees and would say this was definitely well worth the 1km hike each way. Forgive my recent extended absence George – partly caused by being without a computer for about 10 days and partly by you know what.
    Cheers mate

  • Sorry Peter, I sent a comment instead of a reply..getting dumber by the!
    Here’s the Reply:
Hi Peter, good to see you again, and sorry to hear about your problems. I read your journal about the monitor..and learned some new stuff by reading some of the replies..sorry it was all for nothing but you’ll make someone else happy with the new one, I’m sure. When I did the title I was thinking of you and wondered if you’d spot it..haha!! As I mentioned to Mike above, the hike down isn’t bad, coming back up is another! The pieces of driftwood helped immensely!
    Cheers my friend,

I came back to finish reading your reply George, and saw your note to Peter, he won’t see it cause it’s a comment. You might want to copy/paste it and delete the above and this,,,,,,,just a wee thought my friend

  • Many thanks Vicki for the heads-up! Glad you’re looking out for me!

Very cool shot, George…had me thinking it was OZ too!!

  • Many thanks Wendi..I didn’t know the name of the place either until I got there, and was quite surprised myself. I must try to find out the origin of the name, just for the fun of it :>)
