When you stand on the shore of Lake Louise, in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada, you get a beautiful view of the shimmering lake and the mountainous backdrop. But there’s quite a different perspective when looking down on the same scene from up on Mount Whitehorn, (2088 metres, 6,850 ft.) across the Bow River Valley.
From there, the lake is a little green jewel in the Rocky Mountains, nestled beneath the massive bulk of Mt. Victoria ( 3388 metres / 11154 feet), crowned with the snow and ice of the Victoria Glacier.
