Waterton Lakes National Park, Alberta, Canada. Here the vast prairie grasslands come to an abrupt halt at the barrier of the Rocky Mountains. There are no real foothills, but on the road to Red Rock Canyon there is a tongue of the prairie that intrudes into the mountain to some extent. We stopped and took a hike off the road to capture some of the wilderness scenes and just be alone with nature.

This looks fantastic George, I swear I have the exact same capture. To bad we couldnt get up to Red Rock. Again great shot !!
You probably do! We did go to the end of the road but it was just to turn around and go back! So that was when we pulled off and went for a little hike! Nice wilderness area :)

Wow another beauty of a capture George. You were sure on a roll on this trip. The colors are so amazing. :>)) Leslie
lol..thanks Leslie..we did take quite few. Jann actually took more than me..I’m still remembering my film days when every shot counted so much. Jann fires off about 10 to my one, so she has lots more to pick from. Glad you liked this one !

What an awesome view, George. Must be breathtaking to see first hand. Marvellous shot!
Hi Mike..thanks a lot my friend. We love getting off the beaten path and just being alone with nature, and it was easy to do on that little road.

George, you have some of the most incredible shots of Waterton Lakes National Park!! I don’t know how many more you have but I have enjoyed every single one…I don’t suppose it was the great time together that makes these even more special!! Lol!! Another fave for sure!!
Very many thanks Blair, your encouragement and support have been wonderful gifts! Oh, I think Jann and I have several hundred more (each) lol! But I’m sure we’ll never post them all. As you know yourself, it takes time to sort, agonize over which one of 6 0r 7 is the best, which series probably wouldn’t be interesting..lol! We all do it. I think we’re like you, that place means so much more because of us getting together and having such a good time!

An amazing photo George in which the foreground greenery contrasts so vividly with the snow capped mountain background and makes for a wonderful eye catching composition. And to think you were still only in your 70’s when you took this! Great work old mate.

Glad you liked it Peter, you’ve always been such a supportive friend! And I must agree, I was probably more lively this time last year..haha! Time will tell, we’re planning another Meet N Greet not far from the same place in about 6 weeks. We’ll see what difference a year makes..lol!
All the best,
George
