I was admiring the view of Upper Waterton Lake when this family came along to do the same thing. Sometimes I like to have people in a shot just to add a bit of human interest, and they were being careful to keep the children away from the edge of the steep slope which runs down to the lake shore.
This is in Waterton Lakes National Park, Alberta, Canada, where the Rocky Mountains merge into Glacier National Park in Montana, away off at the center of the photo. Together they form the Glacier-Waterton International Peace Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

another beautiful shot, so pristine isn’t it.

  • It really is. I don’t think there’s one single place that really compares to it. They sure picked a great site for the hotel and gave us all such a wonderful vantage point. I took “Blue Heaven” from the same spot about a half-hour later when the light had dropped.

  • Thanks again Sean, I’m sure we all have similar! Thank goodness for digital, I’d have run out of film in the first five minutes..haha! I really think it’s my fave spot in the whole chain of parks!

The stuff that dreams are made of and the kind of scene I’ll never get to see in person. Great piece of work old buddy – a treat for the eyes.

  • I feel the same way when I look at the pics of your trip up through the northern reaches of Australia. I’ve always wanted to get down there and never managed to make it. Having to work for a living can be a real drag, even if you do love your work. In my case I loved it so much I had a hard time taking vacations. Somebody should have kicked my rear and smartened me up. About 40 years ago, at least..!!!! lol!
