The Tonquin Valley is located in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada, very close to the border of Alberta and British Columbia. This area is the continental divide,as it runs along the peaks of the South Jasper Range of the Rocky Mountains. Glimpses of Tonquin Creek can be seen through the dense forest at the bottom of the valley.

    Really beautiful. Great shot.

  • Hi Marilyn, many thanks also..so glad you liked it. I lived in So. Cal. back in 1961-62, and did a lot of roaming around the Sierras and on the Mojave, including a visit to Bishop. Really enjoyed the scenery!

    Incredible Capture George!!!
I Love those clouds behind the snowy mountains!

  • Hi Lee, thanks very much. The first day we saw the valley there were high wispy clouds but the second day we had better luck. I also think that big puffy clouds add a lot to a picture.

Talk about depth of field George! Wow! The colors and then clouds to offset……. quite perfect! :>)) Leslie

  • Hi Leslie..I was quite pleased with this one myself..the weather was dull and gray one day and the next we had just the opposite. Typical mountain weather, but it really made the air amazingly clear..no haze at all.
