Standing on a ridge near Maligne Canyon in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada, and looking off to the north-west. One of the many ranges of the Rocky Mountains with a tumult of early autumn clouds, and the vast forest in between. One of those places where one feels very small and insignificant in the presence of Mother Earth.

George that gorgeous ominous sky works in perfect unison with this shot! I love it. :>)) Leslie

  • Thanks Leslie, I agree with you..I think it was actually those rolling clouds that made me climb up the ridge and see what sort of a shot I could get. At the bottom I couldn’t see anything but trees and clouds, and then seeing the mountains made the effort well worthwhile.

    Lovely country, George! Well caught.

  • Hi David, and thanks, as always! It is indeed a beautiful place, though the old body is starting to rebel at climbing up places like! That was in 2009 and I feel some changes since then!!!

Perfect frame for this shot, and a most epic sky! Very nice!

  • Thanks again Kevin, much appreciated. Another of those days when the weather conditions contributed so much to the image :)
