It pays to always have the camera in the car. Yesterday we had the most amazing mixture of clouds, as a storm front passed over southern Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. Looking around in a circle, I could see dozens of different sky-scapes, ranging from mist and fog to clear blue skies, and everything in between.
Sitting on the seawall at the town of Sidney, I spent over an hour shooting frame after frame as waves of clouds went past, mixed with sudden rain showers and gusts of wind. The most interesting thing, to me, was the yellowish-brown hue near the horizon, which I have never seen before except in watching a hurricane approaching on the Atlantic Coast.
