The German Navy training ship Gorch Fock ll, one of six such ships originally built at the Blohm & Voss shipyards in Hamburg.She was built in 1958 serving as a training ship for the West German Navy until the fall of the Berlin wall, after which she continues to serve the German Navy. The first 5 ships had various destinies. One of them,ex-Horst Vessel, became the U.S.Coast Guard’s Eagle.

The Gorch Fock ll was one of the largest ships at the Tall Ships Festival in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada in July, 2007.
