Trying to get a good shot of breaking waves in a nasty Pacific storm. Surf breaking in front of the seawall at Ross Bay, part of Victoria, Vancouver Island,British Columbia, Canada. The work-flow was to clean and dry the lens, put the camera inside my coat, run forward fast, pull camera out and shoot, run backwards (faster) and get thoroughly soaked by rain and spray. Made a bit more difficult because those black blobs you see in the wavefront are rocks, which are picked up and hurled along with the water. Sort of like being in the line of fire of a battery of slingshots.
Off in the distance is Trial Island with it’s radio antennae and lighthouse.
I’m told that normal people don’t do this.
