A sudden thunderstorm comes rolling in over one of the ranges of the Kootenay Mountains in south-east British Columbia, Canada.Wetlands and several rivers nourish the valley floor in between the ranges which run roughly north and south. This area is part of Kootenay National Park, which was created as a condition of building the Banff-Windermere Highway , the first motor road to cross the Canadian Rocky Mountains, The road was completed in 1922.
