Lake Golden is in Ontario, Canada, south-west of the city of Ottawa, in a countryside of lakes, rolling hills and mixed hardwood and softwood forests.
This photo was taken in September, 1956, while my wife and I were staying in a cottage nearby. My son was not quite 2 months old at the time, and he’s in the picture, but asleep in her lap.
Camera: Exakta 35mm.SLR, 50mm. Biotar lens

What a beautiful scene, George! Marvellous old photo. I had to “google” Lake Golden! I see it’s up Renfrew way – wonderful country, been through that way few times.
Morning Mike, glad you liked it. Long time ago and a lot of memories on that one. I was teaching a radar course at the RCAF station at Foymount. If you look here:

I hope that works; you’ll see Golden Lake and just below it is Lake Clear, which is where we had our cottage. Just to the left of that is Foymount, which I think is long since abandoned.Gordie got stung by a bee, and we took him to Pembroke for his first penicillin shot, only to get back home and found he was allergic to it, so back to Pembroke in the late hours for some sort of antidote. Not sure how coherent I was teaching class next day! 6 weeks in a lovely lakeside cottage in September..hard to beat that, and got paid at the same time..LOL!
