Koksilah River Provincial Park, in the midst of a west coast rain forest, is located 7 km west of Shawnigan Lake, on Southern Vancouver Island,British Columbia, Canada. To get to it, one drives to Mill Bay on Hwy. #1,then turn west on the Shawnigan Lake Rd. Renfrew Road, a logging road, provides access to the park, and the Falls are located just about where the pavement ends and the logging road starts. This logging road is a “drive at your own risk” affair as it winds through huge areas of logging, clear-cuts and many side roads which have no designation other than cryptic signs which mean something to the loggers, but not the average driver. And you may end up getting to a dead-end because of active logging ahead and have to retrace your steps, which is what happened to us that day. Stay and enjoy the falls and the park!
