The Mount in this case is Mount Edith Cavell, one of many peaks in the Rocky Mountain chain in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada. The switchback road is reasonably good but very narrow and some surprises around the turns!
The road travels about 12 kms. upward, ending in a picnic area under the north face.
The mountain is 3363 meters high, and was named in honor of a British nurse who was executed for helping prisoners of war escape German-occupied Belgium during World War I.

Beautiful, George. There are great cabins on the Athabasca, right below it, where we stayed a few times.

  • Thanks again David. We planned this one the day before, so it was about 6 AM when I took this one. Had no idea the day would end at past midnight in Calgary!! “No room at the Inn” or inns. lol!

Nice perspective with the road leading me deep into the scene.

  • Good morning, happy to meet another fellow landscaper, and a mountain one too..lol! Thanks for your kind words. We get over to Alberta as often as we can, but still have barely touched the scenes that are there.
