A typical day in early June, driving across the prairies on Highway 5 in south-western Alberta, Canada. Behind us, sunshine, and ahead, clouds topping the foothills of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Here the vast prairies converge rather quickly into rolling hills and valleys which then become the advance guard of the Rockies and in the short distance is Waterton Lakes National Park, the most southerly of the chain of parks which includes Jasper,Banff and numerous others. The intermittent light breaking through the clouds gave a constantly changing series of highlights on the whole area.
