Looking down into the gorge of the Athabasca River, a short way below the falls. The various layers and the composition of the rock walls results in many shades of color, made even more interesting by the effects of sunlight filtering through the changing mists of the river. This is one of those prone positions where one very cautiously peeks over the edge to get the shot. Later on, one wonders where our common sense goes at such times.
