A sudden spring storm had just blown itself out on the Strait of Juan De Fuca, at the south end of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. Some sunlight was starting to break through the heavy cloud cover as a big container ship passed by on the way to Vancouver.Clouds hang over the tops of the Olympic Mountains in Washington State, USA. The Strait is the ship channel for traffic from the open Pacific.
