I’m reasonably sure this is a cedar tree, on the lawn in front of Hatley Castle, at Royal Roads University in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. It’s one of the most striking features of the lawns and gardens that surround the castle, perhaps more so because of standing separately from others. I’ve had other photos of it but I needed someone to give it some perspective, so on a Valentine’s Day stroll I was able to do so.

What a beauty, George. A magnificent tree, indeed!
