The jogger really picked up the pace when this wild storm came up out of nowhere. We were shopping in Sidney, a town on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, when we noticed the sky turning black, thunder rolling and lightning flashing. Thunderstorms are very rare around here so we hastily drove down to the seawall in time to catch the blast as it swept in off the Strait of Georgia. A few seconds later and the deluge came and it was like sitting inside a car-wash!. We could see people out walking their dogs and getting soaked to the skin. On the way home we even encountered slushy snow on parts of the road. A really unusual combination of weather!

Thanks Craig, I love that sort of scene myself, it’s not all that common but once in awhile luck favours the guy with the camera in the car..lol!

Out jogging and the sky looks so menacing! Great shot George!
Hi Brian, thanks very much. That storm came up almost in minutes. There were a lot of folks out jogging, walking their dogs, etc. and they all had a thorough soaking. Very unusual for here to have thunder storms at any time, but never saw one this late in the year.
