I often mention the horse-drawn carriages that provide year-round tours in Victoria, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. They’re very popular so here’s one..navigating a tight turn onto Menzies St. from Belleville St. in the heart of downtown, an area that borders on the Inner Harbour and is a tourist mecca almost all year. This one was taken June 29,2009, Fuji S100FS camera.

Lovely carriage, George. I do hope the car drivers are paying attention!

  • Thanks Mike..I’ve never heard of a crash between horse and car, tho it may have happened..the combo of horse and carriage is quite a lot longer, and bigger, especially the horse, so I think it’s their high visibility that avoids problems.

Like your tall ships, this just has so much more style !

  • Thanks Stan.. they seem very popular all year round, as long as it’s not pouring rain. Nice leisurely way to see the sights and the drivers give a good chatter about the city sights and history.
