A young bull moose in the process of shedding the “velvet” from his antlers. Not the safest time to approach too closely, but this one was quite unconcerned after I had watched him quietly for awhile and only interrupted his grazing to glance at me now and then. He was in the bush just off the Cabot Trail in Cape Breton Highlands National Park, Nova Scotia. I posted a side view of him a few days ago.
