Sailors take warning. That’s how the old saying goes, and it almost came true on this fishing trip. The sky was heavily overcast and brooding, and a thick bank of fog was building up over South Pender Island and out in the Strait of Georgia. An hour later, we couldn’t see any of the Gulf Islands except Pender, and we were fishing almost in it’s shadow.
These islands are offshore from Sidney, British Columbia, and form part of a large collection of islands along the south east coast of Vancouver Island. (Too many islands!)
At this point, The Strait of Georgia separates Canada from Washington State, USA.

If you play around with the zoom function you can get a good look at all the islands around here.
