Butchart’s Gardens, near Victoria, Vancouver Island, British Columbia. The Sunken Garden is probably the most scenic of the several “gardens” within this beautiful place, but they present many different views depending upon how far one wishes to explore. This view was taken from the window of a look-out built as a miniature log cabin, accessible from one of the many paths, and offering a different perspective entirely.
A National Historic Site of Canada, and a world-famous tourist attraction, now 105 years in bloom since being started in 1904.
Taken on July 12, 2009 with a Fuji S100FS camera.

I have seen pictures before of this park , it is really beautiful and a lovely shot . x

  • Hi Irene, there are so many photos of the Gardens that are quite similar, I try to get different views. A lot of visitors don’t take the time to explore all the by-ways.

This is beautiful, its a lovely view of the gardens, xx

  • Hello again Ann, and thank you. I’m trying to post some images that are a different view from the usual. There’s a lot of little paths and vantage points that many visitors don’t take the time to see.

    Goood work, George !!
You managed to get a new perspective on something that’s been photographed a million times. :)

  • Thanks Stan. I think a lot of people try to take in everything in one big rush, which is understandable when on a tour or off a cruise ship, so a lot of beautiful views get overlooked. Ones like this one are readily accessible but you have to take the time to explore all the paths and by-ways.
