My son and I decided to go salmon fishing early in the morning of August 1, 2009. Half way to the destination, the sun rose over the end of South Pender Island and I stopped the boat long enough to get a few shots. Shortly after this, a heavy fog bank appeared between the islands and made an amazing deep red sunrise scene. I’ll post that one later on.
Pender Island is one of the British Columbia Gulf Islands, located about 10 miles off the south east coast of Vancouver Island. The closest town is Sidney, which is where we were embarking from.
For more detail on where it is, here’s a link to a Google Map URL:
If you play around with the zoom function you can get a good look at all the islands around here.
