Bellevue Beach

George Cousins

North Saanich,British Columbia, Canada

Artist's Description

Bellevue Beach is on the Isthmus of the Avalon Peninsula of Newfoundland, Canada. Taking the Trans-Canada Highway from St. John’s(the capital of Newfoundland) , the Beach is located about 102 km. from the city, and on Route 201, just a few minutes off the TCH. It’s about 30 minutes away from Clarenville and 40 minutes from the Ferry which runs from Placentia, Newfoundland to North Sydney, Nova Scotia. The water is Trinity Bay, one of the largest bays on the north east coast which run in from the Atlantic Ocean.
This picture was taken in 1967 when I took my family camping across the whole province. My two sons had a great time on the trip and can now look back from the vantage point of being 47 and 53 respectively. We won’t talk about my vantage point!
Taken with an Exakta 35mm SLR, F 2.0 50mm Biotar lens, High speed Ektachrome film and a Weston 2 lightmeter.
