Approaching Dock-Halifax 2004

Artist's Description

On her first visit to Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2004, the Queen Mary 2 approaches her dock at Pier 21. My friend at the left was intent on getting a good shot so I decided I’d get them both, along with a few other spectators. We had a grand-stand view, as you can see. The visit was very appropriate as Halifax was the birthplace of Samuel Cunard, who eventually founded the Cunard Line, of which the QM2 is a part.

Taken with a Sony Mavica camera, just as I was switching from film to digital and wondering just where this would lead! I was still using my 35mm.Exakta and trying both cameras on that day.
