Sometimes you have to wait until the subject comes to you. I spent over an hour trying to get a good shot of this beautiful bird, but it was always asleep, hidden somewhere or mixed in with another bunch. Then when least expected, I turned around and there it was. I don’t know if it’s a peacock or a peahen, but it’s pure white and very lovely. Taken in Beacon Hill Park in the south end of Victoria,Vancouver Island,British Columbia, with a Fuji S100FS camera, May 3, 2009.
Update: he was a peacock, and his name was Niagara, because of his habit of sitting on one of the fences and letting his plumage drape down like a waterfall. He was not an albino, but a naturally white peacock, and he recently died at approximately 13 years of age. The petting zoo is hoping to find another, because he was a star attraction, especially for children.
