Artist's Description

Along the north shore of Lake Superior, the largest of the Great Lakes between Canada and the USA, the highway (No. 17, Ontario, Canada) wends it’s way between many cliffs such as these. I assume the red colour is caused by some form of iron oxide or similar mineral formation, but I could easily be corrected on that. Some people (unfortunately) couldn’t resist leaving their “signatures” on the rocks, but I suppose it gives some perspective. This formation is near Nipigon Bay, Ontario, and was taken in early evening in August, 2006, with a Sony DSCF828 camera.
