November 11, 2006 and we had just crossed the Canadian Rockies in a series of snow squalls, high winds and generally rough driving conditions, so it was really nice to get back into the warmer and much nicer weather in the south-central interior of British Columbia. This photo was taken near Salmon Arm, a beautiful area of lakes and small mountains, along with pastoral and resort areas, very popular with house-boaters especially. A few trees are starting to show Fall colours, and there’s still remnants of bad weather peeking over the tops of the higher hills.
Camera was a Sony DSCF828.

A glorious, deep view with great foreground colours helping to add to that depth. I like what looks to be wisps of cloud right down on those hills on the left. I conjured up a mental picture of skaters gliding across this lake during the depths of winter, just like we used to do up in the English Lake District in my previous life! All the best George old mate, Peter
Thanks Peter, you’re right about the wisps of cloud. We dodged snow squalls all through the Rockies and here at Salmon Arm it was back to temperate weather but the clouds kept following us for awhile. It was quite a change in about an hour’s driving time. Cheers!
