July 16, 2007. The waterfront of the City of Halifax, Nova Scotia, is filled with thousands of people waiting for the Sailpast of the Tall Ships Festival. The boardwalk runs for several miles all along the front of the city, with all sorts of attractions from gifts to 17th. century buildings to restaurants, outdoor cafes, tours of all kinds. I worked and lived in and around Halifax for 25 years and saw the city become one of the most attractive and dynamic urban centres anywhere in Canada,in addition to being one of the largest deep-water ports in the world. And with the famous down-east friendliness that will make you keep coming back, as I do every year.
