Artist's Description

But that was a long time ago. This ladder wagon was the first piece of fire fighting equipment used on the West Coast of Newfoundland. It was built in 1920 and used in St. John’s. In 1927 it was acquired by Corner Brook and served until replaced by a motor truck in 1937. The old wagon is now a museum piece at Humbermouth, near Corner Brook, in western Newfoundland. I took this photo when we were visiting there in 1967.

Exakta 35mm SLR with High speed Ektachrome film.
