At South Ingonish Harbour on the Cabot Trail, Cape Breton Island, in Cape Breton Highlands National Park, Nova Scotia, Canada. A small schooner and some inshore fishing boats find a quiet and sheltered anchorage, safe from the North Atlantic storms. Taken in late September, this image shows the heavily-wooded highlands trees just starting to come into their Fall colours, which in another week or two will become a blaze of reds, golds and many other brilliant shades.

What a peaceful, secluded setting. And its not raining. lol.
    Nice capture, George.

  • Thanks Stan. That was in 2005 and I think we had two days of rain while we were in Cape Breton, but lots of it down at the other end.

Terrific scene and I can picture it in all it’s colourful glory. We don’t get the autumn colours like you do – spring is our colourful season.

  • Thanks Peter. I posted one called Autumn Glory a few days ago that was taken about two weeks after this one and shows the highlands in peak autumn colours. This one was a little early.
