I’m not much of an expert on flowers, but these are definitely tulips. I don’t know what the yellow ones are. The photo was taken in late April 2008 in Beacon Hill Park, at the south end of Victoria, British Columbia,on Vancouver Island.Victoria is known as the “City of Gardens” for good reason. With a mild climate and early springs, flowers are in bloom much ahead of the rest of Canada. The camera used was a Fuji Finepix S100FS. If you’d like a day hike, you can reach the very big park by walking, car, bus or horse-drawn carriages. There are no food facilities in the park but easily reached by a short walk outside the boundaries. It’s open all year and part of it faces the ocean and many walking trails along Dallas Road, a favourite for hikers, kiting, or just enjoying nature.
