I have a great love for ocean storms, but sometimes I wish it wasn’t quite as much rain as this particular day. Late one October afternoon in 2006, heavy Atlantic Ocean surf batters the Nova Scotia coastline south of Halifax. Laying prone on wet granite to keep from being blown over and somehow keeping the gusts of rain off the camera. Couldn’t help thinking “are we having fun???” Hmmmmm.

I can feel the wind howling around my ears.
One has to wonder if the rock in the forground was once as high as those in the background? What a sense of power you get from this image !!!
It’s the power of nature that is the biggest draw for me. I tried to get a shot where the surf was really big but could still get one of the reefs exposed. Hard to get the timing right, only option is lots of exposures..lol.

Wow that’s wild and woolly – you have certainly picked up the mood of this coastline – great work George.
Thanks Bev, I can’t resist storms or the ocean in general. It expresses so much of the power of nature.
