Along the shores of the St. Lawrence River in the Eastern Townships of Quebec, Canada, we found many of these granite outcrops popping up among the farms, usually with a mixed growth of hardwoods and softwoods. The hardwoods are just starting to get their Fall colours. This was in the area between Riviere du Loup and Trois Pistoles in early September 2006. Sony DSCF828 camera.

Amazing stuff this mother nature does. Wonder how many people drive by without even noticing this?

  • Probably thousands, if you’re on the autoroute, but we poked along the small roads and that’s when you see so many really unique spots in this area.
