Station of the Cross

George Cousins

North Saanich,British Columbia, Canada

Artist's Description

At the Catholic Basilica of Saint Anne de Beaupre, just north of Quebec City, Canada, this is one of the Stations of the Cross, metallic sculptures depicting the final Passion of Christ. They are mounted on a small hillside adjacent to the Basilica and are a popular site for the thousands of pilgrims and visitors that come to the shrine every year.Unfortunately on my last visit in 1954, it was a misty, rainy day and difficult to get as clear a photo as I would have liked.
Taken with an Exakta Varex 35mm.SLR, probably with ordinary Ektachrome film at that time. Scanned at 4000dpi with a Canoscan 4000US scanner.
