just outside Drumheller, Alberta,Canada. It seats 10,000 people, 6 at a time. The church is meant as an actual place of worship and meditation, not just a tourist attraction. It was built in 1968 by a local contractor and reconstructed by inmates of the Drumheller Institution in 1991. Another interesting place on the Canadian prairies.

Quaint structure George and very interesting.

  • I have some of the interior, but want to space them out to abide by the rules. It’s really quite novel.

We have one similar to that near Dryden. Its a bit bigger, though. Probably seats 12 comfortably. (Don’t actually know, I’ve never been in it.)

  • I’d never heard of this one until we went to Drumheller. I have some of Jann inside, being the preacher and also squeezing into a pew. I wouldn’t want to sit too long!

Great find George…..I will have to look for it next time I am out there. Wonderful capture !!

  • Hi Sean, yes you should, just for the novelty of it. It’s on same road as going to the Tyrell Museum, but a little past it, probably a km. or so. On the right hand side of the road and you have to watch for it, there is a sign, but not a large one!

Congrats on your feature. Looks like a doll house kind of church.

  • Hi Barbara..thank has 6 pews and an altar inside, and can seat 6 adults. A bit cramped if you’re tall, and I wouldn’t want to sit through a long sermon..LOL!

Congratulations George…….say hello that that beautiful lady in the window for me :-))

  • Hi Vickie..I’ll do that, she’s actually at church in Victoria and I hope it’s more comfortable! You can sit in the pews in this one but not for very long! It’s a charming little place to see :)

Congrats on your recent feature in the GPNA group George…nicely done indeed…I remember it well, as I recall the sign said It seats 10, 000 people…6 at a time…Hope you are both well…Larry

  • Hi Larry..thank you. You remember the sign exactly! It’s quite a charming little place inside. We’re both doing OK, but it’s been a very long wet season. Still raining almost every day. I know it’s better than snow but even I get depressed after awhile. Sunny today for a few hours and that was nice to see :)
