October 2005, Thomas Raddall Park, Queens County, Nova Scotia. I think these were cormorants, but I can stand being corrected! They looked like they had decided it was just too foggy to fly out fishing. We spent almost a day in the area and that dense fog bank never really moved very much. If you could see beyond it, the Atlantic stretches all the way to North Africa on a great-circle route. Sony DSCF828 camera.
